Here at Adkins Academy, we understand that the key to success is knowledge retention. When you fully understand something, you are able to apply what you have learned into your everyday life. That is the goal of our Adkins Academy courses: to be able to understand and remember the information we give you enough to utilize it throughout your career and personal life.
One of the best steps you can take to achieve this is to study outside of the Adkins Academy classes and on your own time. However, we understand that you live a busy life and are sometimes unable to sit down and study for your TEAS VI or HESI A2 exam. That is why it is important to create a study schedule that you can follow leading up to your big test-taking day. Here are some tips for creating the perfect study schedule.
Plan Around Your Current Schedule
Whether you are working full-time or have many things to do throughout your day, we encourage you to lay out what you have going on in the weeks leading up to your exam. Once you have written or typed this out, look for any significant times before, during, or after these events. You can use these extra hours to study.
Although you may want to tell yourself that skipping one day after a hard day at work will not set you back, chances are that they will. Unless an emergency comes up in your life, stick to your schedule as much as possible. Study at the established days and times to create a sense of routine in your life.
Organize Your Notes and Materials
If you spend a significant amount of time looking for your study materials, you are not utilizing your time wisely. Make sure that you have all of the appropriate notes and materials at your disposal before you sit down to study. Furthermore, it is recommended that you organize your notes even before you begin preparing for your exam. You can do this in a number of ways, such as rewriting notes in your notebook or on your laptop. If you are a visual learner, color-coding your notes can also help you remember important concepts.
Utilize Adkins’ Numerous Resources
At Adkins Academy, we want our students to succeed wherever they are. That is why we offer a number of different study materials that you can access on your own time. The Adkins Academy YouTube Channel is a great way to review important concepts in quick, easy-to-follow lessons. The Adkins Academy Question Bank is another great resource that we offer to our students, with accurate practice questions written by Dr. Adkins himself available anytime you are able to study.
