How Long Does It Take to Get My TEAS Test Score?
Well, the short answer is usually right away – right after you finish taking your TEAS Test. BUT, that does depend on where you take the exam. Depending on where and when you happen to take your TEAS VII exam, – at home or at a testing center or over the weekend – you may have to wait a couple business days to get your score.
Additionally, some schools do hold off on making your TEAS Score available for 24-48 hours to “validate you score” or simply need to have enough TEAS student scores in to generate legitimate test stats – program averages, etc.
If you choose to take the paper and pencil version of the ATI TEAS Test, the ATI Nursing Education department will be the ones responsible for grading your test which will normally be done within 24 business hours after they receive it from the site where you took your test. Your score should then be posted within about 48 business hours. Most school do not allow you to take the paper and pencil version without being approved for accommodations.
If you take the TEAS test at home through ATI, you should be able to immediately access your results by clicking on your student account and searching under the “my results” tab. If you are testing at a PSI site, your ATI TEAS exam results can take up to 72 business hours to appear under your student account. Please keep in mind that the date on your score report will reflect the date the exam posts into your ATI student account, not the date that you actually took the exam. You need to be sure to schedule your exam with this fact in mind so that your scores are entered into the system on time if you have a deadline to meet.
You will receive your test score along with a report that will identify the types of concepts you missed but doesn’t provide the correct answer for the questions you missed. Many people retake the TEAS test 2 – 3 times before either getting the score they want or just giving up on the dream of being a nurse. So DON’T go it alone…DON’T waste time and money…& definitely DON’T GIVE UP on your dreams. Simply get the best TEAS tutor on your side. Dr. Adkins and The Adkins Academy Inc has helped over 5000 students just like you get a high TEAS score.
Also, keep in mind that MOST schools are very competitive and get hundreds of applicants. Many schools even have a maximum number of TEAS test attempts per year, like 2 – 3 times. But remember, that is just that one school. There are plenty of other schools; so be resourceful. But the absolute best thing you can do is get your TEAS score into the 80s or 90s so that you have no question about getting accepted into nursing school.
So what is the NEW TEAS VII test about?
The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) test is required by an array of different nursing schools and Allied Health Programs at colleges and universities across the United States to determine if a student is academically ready to take on the academic challenge of nursing school.
There are 209 minutes allotted for each student to answer 170 questions, but only 150 are actually graded. The breakdown is that there are 50 Science questions to answer in 60 minutes (6 questions not scored), 37 English and Language Usage questions to be completed in 37 minutes (4 questions not scored), 38 Math questions that students must answer in 57 minutes (6 questions not scored), and 45 questions in 55 minutes for the Reading portion of the test (6 questions not scored). The problem is that you DO NOT know which questions are graded and which are not. So, with that, you definitely want to try to get EVERY QUESTION correct.
The TEAS Test is a type of entrance exam that is also referred to as the ATI TEAS, TEAS 7, or the TEAS VII, but they are all the same exams. The TEAS test consists of a total of 170 multiple-choice questions in four different main areas of study, including reading, mathematics, science, as well as English and Language Usage.
If you are not sure if the college, university, or nursing school that you want to enter into requires the TEAS test to be taken and passed, you will need to check with the program officials – a program recruiter, counselor, or, even better, a current student. You should also inquire as to how many times you can take the TEAS examination as some schools will only allow you one to three attempts to get a passing score while others will allow you to take the test over and over again until you pass it.
With most schools get 500 or more applicants for 50 seats, you definitely want your TEAS score to be in the 80s or 90s. Dr. Adkins of The Adkins Academy has helped over 5000 students get high scores on the TEAS and he can help you too.
